COMPASS INN, Laughlintown – Compass Inn Museum and Historic Site is an authentically restored stagecoach hostelry and tavern. From 1799 until 1862 it served as a popular inn for travelers on the Philadelphia-Pittsburgh Turnpike.  The original Inn in constructed of logs with a stone wing added in 1820 and is furnished with an extensive collection of period pieces.  While George Washington never stayed at the Compass Inn, other noteworthy folks such as Henry Clay, William Henry Harrison, Andrew Jackson and President-Elect Zachary Tyler were listed among guests.

LUNCH AT COAL MINER’S DINER, Jennerstown serves excellent homemade food, including great burgers, desserts, and real turkey dishes like the Turkey over Biscuits lunch. The food is well prepared, with highlights such as their liver and onions and exceptional gravy. The diner has a cozy, antique feel with a spacious dining area that now seats more guests after redecorating. It features a unique atmosphere, with private rooms paying homage to mining and Flight 93. The restaurant offers both inside and outside seating, including wheelchair accessibility, making it family-friendly and suitable for all.

BRANTVIEW MAPLE FARMS, The Brant family has been tapping trees and producing 100% pure, single source maple syrup and maple products for eight generations. That's a long time!  Starting in 1832, George Stull started producing maple syrup in Somerset County and passed the technique and maple recipes on to his family and son, William. Generations passed and today, Richard Brant (George's great-great-great grandson - he's really great!) operates the 300-acre sugar camp and maple tree farm located in Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands.  The sugar camp is located outside of Shanksville, just 10 miles from Flight 93 National Memorial. Brantview Farms Maple produces 100% pure, single source maple syrup, maple sugar, maple cream, maple hard tack candy, maple cotton candy, maple coated nuts, maple taffy and maple sugar cake candy. 
 
ORIGINAL PIE SHOPPE, Laughlintown – The Pie Shoppe is a full-line bakery and deli offering breads, cakes, cinnamon rolls, cookies, deli meats and cheeses, donuts, gobs, hoagies, pies, pizza, salads and so much more!  Outdoor seating on their patio!
