This all time favorite actually includes one night's accommodations at the historic crown jewel “THE GRAND HOTEL”. Breakfast included in the Main Dining Room and the “GRAND LUNCHEON EXPERIENCE” at the hotel. From mid-May through mid-June lilacs flourish on Mackinac Island, the largest in the country, with some stems larger than two feet across the base. A carriage ride for a tour of the island is included.
Our tour begins with an overnight stop at the SOARING EAGLE CASINO & RESORT HOTEL, includes $30 free play and $20 food voucher. Immerse yourself in luxury at a first class resort.
Day 2, board the ferry to Mackinaw Island and taxi to the GRAND HOTEL. Enjoy lunch at Castle Farms, MI with a tram tour of the picturesque grounds and a walking tour through buildings that showcase the grandeur of the French Chateaux styled buildings. Tour guide will delight you with the rich history of Castle Farms. The completed buildings and landscaped gardens are breathtaking. Depart for Charlevoix MI, where a local guide will show you the architectural diversity of this lovely city, with its unique “mushroom houses” built of native stone and cedar shake roofs.
Then onto to THUNDER BAY RESORT offering the beauty of Northern Michigan. Step back in time as you board a horse-drawn carriage that takes you over the Thunder Bay River and into the woods to the beautiful Elk Antler Log Cabin and an amazing massive split stone fireplace welcomes you. This elegant cabin maintains its rustic appearance while providing every amenity. A gourmet chef and staff prepare a gourmet meal with samples of wine from a nearby winery.
Breakfast included the following day at the Clubhouse Grill, then it’s onto Frankenmuth MI, where you’ll have lunch on your own and time for shopping and browsing, and stop at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, where there’s over 50,000 trims, gifts and collectibles, 6000 styles of ornaments too! We’ll overnight in Troy MI where we’ll have a magnificent Buffet Dinner at our hotel, then the next morning after breakfast (which is included) at our hotel we’re onto THE PACKARD PROVING GROUNDS HISTORICSITE. Step back in time to experience automotive history. Look at some vintage cars and other vintage items and take a ride in a vintage Packard car (weather permitting). Onward to home with wonderful memories. The only compliant about this trip has been it includes too much food!
