In 1950, Abraham Johnson Myers, then 19 years old, was awarded a school bus contract with the Armstrong County School District. This would be the first of many. Since 1950, Abraham, his wife, Patricia, and their five sons, have successfully grown A. J. Myers & Sons, Inc., from serving a single district with a fleet of three buses, to serving four districts with a fleet of more than 200 vehicles. The times have changed but the philosophy has stayed the same.
 
In 1950, Abraham said, "Our objective is to consistently provide our clients with clean, safe, efficient and reliable transportation," and that remains true today. The year 2000 holds a special significance to A. J. Myers & Sons, Inc. It is not only the beginning of a new millenium, but the beginning of the second half of a century in business.

A. J. Myers & Sons, Inc., is 100% owned and controlled by the Myers family. Raised in the western Pennsylvania transportation business environment, each of the five sons demonstrates an intuitive sense and a natural affinity for managing and maintaining clean, safe, efficient and reliable service to all clients. Incorporated in 1977, and headquartered in western Pennsylvania, the corporation has its roots firmly placed within the region it serves. These satellite offices are approximately equidistant from the corporate headquarters, allowing for immediate, collaborative managerial decisions as circumstances may require. Each of the five sons maintains an integral role in the management of the corporation.
